DAAD and French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Postdoctoral Studentships

The DAAD and French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Postdoctoral Studentships represent a distinguished funding pathway for early-career researchers who wish to conduct collaborative projects between Germany and France. This bilateral fellowship is designed to strengthen scientific cooperation and promote innovation across a wide range of disciplines by supporting postdoctoral scholars from around the world. Selected fellows undertake research stays at German and French institutions, gaining access to leading laboratories, academic networks, and cross-cultural mentorship. Eligible applicants must hold a doctoral degree and submit a joint research project developed with partners in both countries. The program provides a monthly stipend, travel allowances, and research grants that cover essential project costs. The application process generally requires a detailed research proposal, a curriculum vitae, and letters of support from host institutions. Deadlines vary by cohort, so prospective candidates should consult the official DAAD and French Ministry websites regularly. This opportunity is particularly suited to researchers seeking international experience, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a strong foundation for an academic career. Scholarship Union maintains a comprehensive guide to help applicants navigate eligibility criteria, documentation, and submission timelines. Prospective fellows are encouraged to review the guide carefully and prepare their materials well in advance to meet each call for applications.
