STEM Study Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

- Applicants cannot already have a Master’s degree by the application deadline
- University degree should not date back more than 6 years at the time of the application deadline
- Legal and subject-specific admission requirements for a Master’s degree programme in Germany must be fulfilled
- Applicants must not have been resident in Germany for longer than 15 months at the application deadline
- Applicants must demonstrate above-average academic performance
- Applicants must have at least level B1 proficiency in the language of instruction (German, English, or both)
How to Apply for STEM Study Scholarships
- Register in the DAAD portal
- Request recommendation form in the DAAD Portal as a writable PDF under ‘Request recommendation form’
- Send the recommendation form to a university teacher and ask them to complete it
- Upload the completed recommendation form in the portal under ‘Letter of Recommendation’
- Prepare application documents
- If necessary, translate documents (unless they are already in German or English)
- Scan paper documents and save in PDF format
- Fill out the online application form and upload the application documents to the portal in PDF format
- Submit the application online
