What does the Silicon Valley Space Week Scholarship cover?

The scholarship provides a Silicon Valley Space Week Full Access Pass worth USD $1,895 to each of five winners, covering conference registration, access to the Satellite Innovation and MilSat symposia, sessions, breakfasts, lunches, coffee breaks, and the evening reception. Travel, lodging, visa fees, and other personal expenses are not covered.

Who is eligible to apply for the scholarship?

Applicants must be founders, entrepreneurs, startup team members, or individuals working on commercial space-related projects. On 29 October 2026 applicants must be registered eligible SGAC members aged between 18 and 35. The opportunity is open to applicants of all nationalities with an economically viable idea or project.

What is the application deadline?

The last date to apply for the Silicon Valley Space Week Scholarship 2026 is 15 September 2026. Applicants should ensure they submit the required videos and supporting documents by this date to be considered for one of the five awards.

What materials are required to apply?

Required documents include a completed application form, a valid visa (or evidence of visa arrangements), a motivational video, a CV or resume, and any other relevant supporting documents. Specifically, applicants must upload two distinct one-minute YouTube videos in English: one about the venture and one about what they hope to gain from attending.

How should applicants prepare their videos?

Applicants must submit two distinct one-minute videos in English at standard playback speed: one pitching the venture and one explaining the opportunity and desired outcomes from attending. Professional filming is not required; clarity and clear explanation of the project and needs are more important than production value.

Is previous funding or investment required?

No. Raising investment is not necessary for eligibility. Selection focuses on communication skills, commercial potential, clarity of the proposal, and how attendance could benefit the venture rather than existing funding status.

Must winners attend the entire event in person?

Yes. Winners are required to be present in person for the entire Silicon Valley Space Week event, scheduled for 27–29 October 2026 in Mountain View, California, USA, to receive the full benefits of the scholarship.

Are travel visas and costs covered by the scholarship?

No. The scholarship only covers the conference pass and associated conference meals and receptions. Travel, lodging, visa fees, and other expenses outside the conference schedule are the responsibility of the winner. Applicants must be able to independently obtain any required visa before October 26, 2026.

Can multiple applications be submitted for the same project?

No. Only one entry is allowed for each individual and each endeavor. Multiple applications from the same enterprise will invalidate all applicants associated with that enterprise.

How are applicants selected?

Selection considers the applicant’s communication, the commercial potential of the venture, clarity of the pitch, and the potential outcomes of attendance. Reviewers evaluate the two submitted videos, the venture pitch, and supporting documents; prior investor backing is not a selection requirement.
