Benefits
- Full tuition fee coverage. The fee is paid directly by SI to your Swedish university each semester.
- A monthly allowance of SEK 12,000 to cover your living expenses throughout the study period.
- A travel grant of SEK 15,000 (*10,000 for scholars from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine). This is a one-time payment and does not apply for students already living in Sweden.
- Membership in the SI Network for Global Professionals (NFGP) – a platform to help you grow professionally and build a network while in Sweden.
- After your scholarship period has ended, you become a member of the Sweden Alumni Network. As a member, you get a unique opportunity for continued networking and professional development.
The scholarship does not include:
- Include an insurance. SI recommend checking with your university to learn more about what insurance coverage they provide for international students.
- Provide additional grants for family members.
- Cover the application fee to University Admissions.
- Allow changes to the study programme. We are only able to support you through the awarded master’s programme.
- Allow extensions or changes to the awarded scholarship period.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is open for applications once every year, for master’s studies beginning in the autumn semester. In order to apply you must:
- Be a citizen of one of the 33 eligible countries for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals;
- Apply for a master’s programme that is eligible for the SI scholarship;
- Be liable to pay tuition fees at University Admissions;
- Have demonstrated work experience;
- Have demonstrated leadership experience from a current or previous employer, or from civil society engagement.

How to Apply?
- Apply for a master’s programme at a Swedish university between 16 October 2025 and 15 January 2026. Note your personal application number, as it is required for your scholarship application. Stockholm School of Economics and Konstfack have separate admission processes.
- Prepare your Curriculum Vitae using the SI template for 2026/2027, keeping it to a maximum of three pages and including only relevant experiences.
- Complete the Proof of Work and Leadership Experience form. Have it signed and stamped by your referee or organization, then merge all forms into a single PDF file.
- Obtain two letters of reference from different referees. One must be based on work experience, while the second can be work-related or from civil society involvement. Use the SI template, signed and stamped, and combine into one PDF.
- Submit a photocopy of a valid passport or national ID card that clearly shows your personal details, including your name, citizenship, and photograph.
- Write your motivation for applying in English within the application portal. Some applicants may also be asked to provide a short video presentation.
- Submit only one scholarship application, even if you applied to multiple master’s programmes. Include up to four eligible programmes and upload one set of each required document.
- Complete and submit your application within the portal opening dates: 9 February – 25 February 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Ensure all documents follow the required format and instructions. Any missing or incorrectly formatted documents may result in disqualification.
- Your personal data will be handled according to GDPR and Swedish public access rules and will be used only for processing and managing the scholarship.
