Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the University of Sydney Postgraduate Research Scholarships in Australia are stated below:

1. Eligible Countries: Domestic and international students can apply for this program.

2. Acceptable Course or Subjects: Postgraduate Research program in computational condensed matter and materials physics.

3. Have either a conditional or unconditional offer of admission for full-time studies in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney

4. Be willing to undertake research in theory and computation of new materials for improved renewable and low-energy technologies

5. Have a background in physics, chemistry, or materials science/engineering, including condensed matter (solid-state) physics

6. Hold at least an Honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or equivalent, or a Masters degree in a related field with a substantial research component or equivalent.

How to Apply: To be considered for this application, candidates must participate in a postgraduate research program at the University of Sydney. After that, they must complete the application form for this funding opportunity.

Supporting Documents: As part of the application, the applicants should include at least one of the following documents:

1. Letter from a medical professional related to pregnancy,

2. A surrogacy agreement,

3. Birth certificate of the child,

4. Adoption documents, or

5. Documentation that substantiates the application.

Admission Requirements: Candidates should have an unconditional offer of admission for a full-time Ph.D. or master's by research program with the intent to transfer to a Ph.D. after satisfactory completion of the first progress review interview.

Language Requirement:  All students whose first language is not English must also meet the University’s English language requirements.
