Introduction

With an aim to support and promote the importance of international students on campus, the University of Alberta has announced Regional Excellence Scholarships for the academic year 2022-2023.

The University of Alberta International Scholarship program is designed for talented and motivated students who want to pursue an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Alberta. The top 5% of students in each faculty will receive up to $6,000, depending on the admission average.

The University of Alberta is a public research university in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, founded in 1908. The institution is classified as a “Comprehensive academic and research university” (CARU). It provides a wide range of academic and professional programs leading to undergraduate and graduate-level certificates and has a strong research focus.

Each successful scholar will receive the award amount of $5,000 CAD to complete their education in Canada.

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities are eligible to apply for this University of Alberta International Scholarship.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply to undertake any desired undergraduate degree programme offered at the University of Alberta.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the given criteria:
  • The applicants must be international students admitted to the applied programme at the University of Alberta.

  • How to Apply: To participate, firstly, students have to enroll in an undergraduate program at the university. After that, they must follow the steps to apply for this funding opportunity.
  • Supporting Documents: Documents issued in a language other than English or French must be accompanied by an official English translation.
  • Course descriptions do not require an official, notarized translation.
  • Official documentation must be sent directly to the Office of the Registrar (mailing address below) from the issuing institution (high school, post-secondary institution, or governmental organization).
  • Admission Requirements: You should check entry requirements when you come to study at the University of Alberta.
  • Language Requirement: English is the primary language of instruction for all programs, except those at Campus Saint-Jean and English Proficiency at UAlberta includes two categories:
  • Written English Language Proficiency (ELP) – required for all programs
  • Spoken English Proficiency (SEP) – required for some programs
