Scholarship Overview
Funded Scholarships at Leiden University for talented international students who would like to follow an English-taught Bachelor’s program at Leiden University.
This scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
The scholarship amounts to € 5,000. You will receive this in the first year of your studies. Please note that this is not a full-tuition scholarship.

Note: The Holland Scholarship is not a full scholarship. Non-EEA Holland Scholarship recipients must still submit ‘proof of sufficient funds for their student visa/residence permit application.

- You are not an EU/EEA, Swiss or Surinamese passport holder.
- You are not eligible for support from the Dutch study finance system.
- You have never studied at a Dutch university or a Dutch university of applied sciences.
- You have completed your pre-university education outside The Netherlands.

Selection process
A selection committee will review all applications for the Holland Scholarship, taking into account prior academic achievement, diversity of the applicants and the information provided in the scholarship motivation letter. You will be notified of the outcome by the Leiden University Scholarships Team (up to) 6 weeks after the deadline.
