The Department of Sociology is pleased to announce two Doctoral studentships for postgraduate research starting in October 2023. Two awards will be made to outstanding postgraduate researchers whose work aligns with the Department of Sociology research themes.

The University of Surrey is a public research university in Guildford, Surrey, in the South East of England, United Kingdom. The university specializes in science, engineering, medicine, and business. It received its charter on 9 September 1966 and was previously situated near Battersea Park in south-west London. The institution was known as Battersea College of Technology before gaining university status. Its roots, however, go back to the Battersea Polytechnic Institute, founded in 1891 to provide further and higher education for London's poorer inhabitants.

The Fully Funded University of Surrey Sociology Doctoral Studentships in UK will cover, for three years or pro-rata part-time, full fees (at home or international rate), an annual stipend (c.£16,000), and a training grant of £500 per year.

The eligibility criteria for the Fully Funded University of Surrey Sociology Doctoral Studentships in UK are stated below:

1. Applicants must have an offer letter for a PhD course in sociology at the University of Surrey to avail of this scholarship.

2. Students applying for Studentships in Sociology can be international or domestic students.

3. Candidates must surpass the admission requirements set by the University.
