Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must self-identify as from a Black heritage, including those of mixed Black backgrounds.
• Must be a UK national, or have completed part of their education (Undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD) in the UK, or have a postdoctoral researcher position in the UK.
• Moreover, they must hold a PhD (or be expected to have completed it by the start of the fellowship) with less than 24 months of postdoctoral experience at the time of application.
• The proposed research must fall within the Royal Society’s remit of the natural sciences, including biology, biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics.
• Similarly, to be eligible for this research fellowship, researchers of any nationality are eligible to apply.
• Both UK and non-UK domiciled researchers who want to conduct their research in UK are eligible.
