Royal Society APEX Awards Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must be based at a UK university or a not-for-profit research institution for at least the duration of the project.
• Applicants must be established independent researchers with a strong research track record in their fields such as science, engineering, humanities or social sciences.
• Applicants must collaborate with a research partner (co-applicant) from a different academic discipline or a different university within the UK.
• All applications must include support from the applicant’s Head of Department.
• Research proposals must fall within the scope of at least two of the participating academies (e.g., the British Academy and Royal Academy of Engineering). Proposals limited to the domain of only one academy will not be accepted.
• Applicants can only submit one application per award cycle.
