RESONANCE Residency Programme Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to curators, visual artists, and designers of all nationalities who live and work in Nigeria
  • Curators must be aged over 23 on January 1st of 2026 and justify at least 5 years of experience in curatorial practices (minimum of two exhibitions curated and two publications in referenced art media)
  • Visual artists must be aged over 23 on January 1st of 2026 and demonstrate at least 2 years of experience in artistic practices in their portfolio
  • Designers must be aged over 23 on January 1st of 2026 and demonstrate a commitment to the practice as a professional and a researcher
  • All applicants must fully commit during the residency period to the development of their research project with the mentor and to connecting with the Cité’s environment
  • All applicants should be in possession of a valid passport and able to travel abroad and fully commit to the residency at the dedicated period of time

How to Apply for RESONANCE Residency Programme?

  1. Submit your application through the official application form before the deadline
  2. Prepare a Resume presenting your academic and professional background, and your contact and postal address (maximum 4 pages)
  3. Prepare a Portfolio explaining your curatorial, artistic or design approach and presenting one or more recent projects representative of your work (5 to maximum 20 pages)
  4. Prepare a Research Focus statement explaining the research angles that you want to develop during your residency, including a residency brief with a list of artists, experts or cultural institutions with whom you wish to collaborate (maximum 3 pages)
  5. (Optional) Include a video link representative of your work (maximum 3 mins) OR a letter of recommendation supporting your project (maximum 1 page)
  6. Ensure you have a valid passport (with 6 months of validity after travel)
