Both undergraduate (four years) and graduate (two years) degrees are eligible, provided you meet academic, test, residency and return-to-Egypt requirements.

What is the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program 2026?

Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program 2026 is a fully-funded opportunity offered to Egyptian nationals residing in Egypt, supporting outstanding students to pursue either a bachelor’s or master’s degree at top universities in the United States.

Who is eligible to apply for the 2026 cycle?

Eligible applicants must be Egyptian nationals residing in Egypt (dual-nationality holders receive lower preference), plan to commence studies in the U.S. in the designated year (2026 for graduate, 2027 for undergraduate), and commit to return to Egypt for two years upon completion.

What levels of study are covered by this scholarship?

The program supports two levels: undergraduate (bachelor’s) degrees of four years in the U.S., and master’s degrees (typically two years) for graduates. Both tracks are available for the 2026 opportunity, subject to meeting specific criteria for each.

What fields of study are accepted under this scholarship?

For undergraduates the eligible fields include engineering (excluding computer engineering and computer science as majors), economics, finance and management. For master’s degrees the fields include engineering (no computer science) and business administration (MBA).

What are the key application requirements for the graduate track?

Graduate applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA or “Very Good”, prove English proficiency (TOEFL iBT ≥100 or IELTS ≥7.5 within two years), provide GRE/GMAT scores (e.g., GRE ≥315 or GMAT ≥650 for MBA), have relevant work experience, and plan to start in the U.S. in 2026.

What are the key application requirements for the undergraduate track?

Undergraduate applicants must hold or be completing grade 11 or 12 by the deadline, have a GPA of 3.5/90% equivalent, English proficiency (TOEFL iBT ≥100 or IELTS ≥7.5), SAT I ≥1450 or ACT ≥32 (within last two years), extracurricular involvement, and plan to begin U.S. studies in 2027.

Which universities are endorsed under the program?

Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program 2026 is only available for study at a defined list of top U.S. universities including (for example) the University of Chicago, Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

What costs does the scholarship cover?

It is a full-funding award that covers university tuition, health insurance, living allowance and travel expenses. Admission to the partner university must also be secured before the scholarship funding is confirmed.

How to apply and what documents are needed?

Applicants need to complete an online application and upload required documents: resume or CV, transcripts, certificate of previous degree or current standing, test scores (TOEFL/IELTS, SAT/ACT or GRE/GMAT as relevant), two recommendation letters, and proof of extracurricular or work experience.

What commitments apply if I receive the scholarship?

If awarded, you must commit to returning to Egypt and working there for two years immediately after your U.S. degree. Also note that nomination does not guarantee university admission — the scholarship only activates once an endorsed U.S. university accepts you.
