Eligibility Criteria
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Meet the GPA requirements set for each country.
- Have at least one to three semesters left as of fall 2026.
- You are welcome to apply if you don’t currently have a valid passport.
- Obtain a reference letter from a professor.
- Updated CV.
- Obtain your academic transcripts (in either English or French).
- Apply to a minimum of three and a maximum of ten projects and ensure selections are from at least three different Canadian provinces.
- Passport Validity should be till January 2027.
- You must be available to complete a 12-week consecutive internship between May 1 and October 31. Internships can start anytime from May 1 to July 31; starting before or after this period is not permitted.

Eligible Countries for MITACS Globalink Research Internship
Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Mexico, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, Tunisia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Additionally, each country includes the names of the eligible universities. If your University name is included, then you are eligible. Check MITACS Eligibility.
How to Apply?
- Ensure you are enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or combined undergraduate/master’s program, from an eligible country, and available for a 12-week internship between May 1 and October 31.
- Collect your CV (preferably using the Mitacs template), official transcripts, one reference letter, and a valid passport.
- Register on the Mitacs Globalink Portal and activate your account through the confirmation email.
- Enter personal details, education information, and select up to seven preferred research projects that match your interests.
- Attach your CV, transcripts, reference letter, and passport copy as required in the portal.
- Review everything carefully and submit your application no later than 17 September 2025 at 1 PM Pacific Time.
- Applications are reviewed, and successful candidates will be contacted with further instructions.
- If selected, arrange your visa or eTA, accommodation, and travel plans for your 12-week stay in Canada.
