Programme Description

The Grant Programme of the Berlin House of Representatives awards funding to young researchers in any subject area from the United States, the United Kingdom, France and states that once belonged to the Soviet Union. Eligible candidates are either researching Berlin and, therefore, German issues or the German international relations or they are working on projects requiring access to the Berlin research institutions. For almost an entire year, they are given the opportunity to participate in Berlin's scientific life and to get to know the culture, the way of life and the people in the German capital.

The Foundation assigns about 15 stipends each year which are worth 1,100 EUR per month for pre-doctoral students and 1,630 EUR per month for post-doctoral researchers over a period of 10 months. The support also includes a fixed allowance for the grant holder's travel to and from Germany.
