Joint Japan World Bank Scholarship University of Tsukuba 2025 track at the Program in Economic and Public Policy (PEPP) allows applicants to apply via the fully funded scholarship schemes of the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) or the Asian Development Bank–Japan Scholarship Program (ADB‑JSP).

Applicants must fill in five tabs (Personal Data, Professional Background, Educational Background, Personal Statement, Research Plan), upload official transcripts, diplomas, CV, standardised English test scores or equivalent proof, a medical certificate issued within 3 months, a photograph (40 mm×30 mm), letters of recommendation (3–4), plus specific forms for JJ/WBGSP or ADB-JSP applicants.

Yes — if documents are in a language other than English, you must attach an official translation in English. All application materials must be written in English.

Yes. Apart from the scholarship track, there is a general admission track for self-funded applicants or those holding other scholarships (e.g., MEXT, JICA).

Yes — you need three to four letters of recommendation. If you submit four, it is advised to have two academic and two professional referees. If submitting three, at least one must be academic and one professional. One professional referee should be a Director or equivalent.

After submitting via the OAS, applicants passing the first screening will be invited to a Zoom interview. Academic screening is finalized by mid-January. Scholarship-track candidates will then receive guidance for the scholarship application process.
