- Must be a citizen and resident of one of the eligible programme countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine
- Hold a position with a mandate to develop new international partnerships and drive change in their local ecosystem
- Have a strong working knowledge of English
- Currently work in an organisation or business that supports the growth of entrepreneurs
- Have the authority or role to develop international partnerships for your organisation
- Be actively willing to participate, share knowledge, and support other participants
- Have already identified challenges or opportunities to work on during the programme, focused on improving your local climate tech entrepreneurship ecosystem

I am based in a country that’s not listed among the programme countries; can I still apply?
No, unfortunately not. We can only accept candidates who are citizens of one of our programme countries and whose organisations are based in one of our programme countries. Both conditions must be met to be eligible. We cannot make any exceptions to the eligibility requirements or temporarily consider a new country.
How is this programme different from other SI programmes?
Impact Pioneers is different due to its target group, regional focus, and thematic focus. It is designed for entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem enablers, focuses on Eastern Europe, the Baltics, and Sweden, and specifically looks at innovation and entrepreneurship as contributing forces to sustainable development and green transition.
Are alumni from previous SI Leadership Programmes eligible to apply for Impact Pioneers?
Yes, alumni of the Swedish Institute Management Programme (SIMP), She Entrepreneurs, SI Leader Lab, or other similar SI Leadership programmes are eligible to apply for Impact Pioneers ’26 EUROPE.
What are your evaluation criteria?
We assess that all formal requirements are met, then evaluate candidate qualifications, experience, and ambition fit to the programme objectives; organisation relevance, qualifications, experience, and ambition fit; and potential for candidate and/or organisation to support Swedish actors/entrepreneurs to expand international outlook. Lastly, we consider overall group composition, including distribution across countries, profiles, and gender.
Do applicants need professional experience?
Yes, applicants are expected to have relevant professional experience in fields related to sustainability or social impact. This ensures that participants can actively contribute to discussions and benefit fully from the programme’s learning approach.
