Global Futures Scholarship 2027 in Kenya

Global Futures Scholarship supports international students from Kenya with merit-based awards that provide discounts on published international tuition fees. The Global Futures Scholarship is available for eligible undergraduate and master’s applicants starting in September 2027 and includes merit-based assessment and award continuation conditions.

The University of Manchester offers these Global Futures Scholarships as part of a wider package of funding across regions. The University administers undergraduate awards of up to £36,000 and master’s awards worth £19,000, and publishes full terms and conditions and application processes to eligible offer-holders.

Global Futures Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Applications will be considered from international fee-paying students domiciled in Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa and Zimbabwe
  • To be considered as domiciled in these countries, applicants must have predominantly resided there during the last three years
  • Applicants must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2027 and have, or be working towards, one of the following qualifications: A-levels, IB Diploma, South African NSC or IEB, NCUK International Foundation Year, Bridge House College Foundation
  • You must be self-funded (not sponsored)
  • You must have selected The University of Manchester as your ‘Firm’ UCAS choice by 15 May 2027 (for undergraduate applicants)
  • For master’s awards you must hold an unconditional offer to study a full-time, on-campus master’s course at The University of Manchester starting in September 2027 by 20 April 2027 and submit an online scholarship application form by the same deadline
  • Not eligible: Medicine (MBChB), Dentistry (BDS), Architecture, courses with an integrated foundation year, those who’ve previously studied in the UK, blended and distance learning programmes (undergraduate); and listed master’s and research exceptions

How to Apply for Global Futures Scholarship?

  1. The application form will only be made available once you’ve applied for an eligible course and received an offer (either conditional or unconditional)
  2. Undergraduate applicants: Round one for students who take examinations in 2026 may apply for an early selection round by 25 February 2027
  3. Undergraduate applicants: Round two – all other students should apply by 8 April 2027
  4. Undergraduate applicants who applied in Round 1 will be notified by 2 April 2027; Round 2 applicants will be notified by 12 May 2027
  5. Master’s applicants must hold an unconditional offer and submit an online scholarship application form by 20 April 2027; successful applicants will be notified by 24 May 2027
  6. For PhDs, check individual Schools and the University’s postgraduate research funding database for competitive bursaries
