- At master’s level: international student born after March 31st 1996
- At master’s level: applying for the first time and from one educational institution
- At master’s level: not currently studying in France
- At master’s level: not holding any other French government scholarship
- At master’s level: pursuing studies in eligible fields: Science and techniques (Biology and health, Ecological transition, Mathematics and digital, Science and engineering) or Human and social sciences (French history, language and civilization, Law and political sciences, Economics and management)
- At PhD level: international PhD student born after March 31st 1990
- At PhD level: applying for the first time at the PhD level
- At PhD level: applying from one educational institution
- At PhD level: not holding any other French government scholarship
- At PhD level: enrolled or planning to enroll in eligible fields (same as master’s)
How to Apply for France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship
- Master’s applicants: Apply via the university’s online form between October 1 and November 9, 2026
- PhD applicants: Apply via the PhD form between October 1 and November 30, 2026
- Select one master’s or PhD program at Paris-Saclay University
- Prepare and combine required documents into single PDF files by category
- Complete the separate admission process for the chosen program (Eiffel application alone is not enough)

I have dual citizenship, one of which is French. Am I eligible?
The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship is reserved to international applicants. Dual citizens with French nationality are not eligible. You can find other scholarship programs on the Campus France website.
I am a foreign citizen currently studying in France. Am I eligible?
Master’s level: Foreign students currently studying in France are not eligible. PhD level: Foreign students currently studying in France are eligible. Foreign students currently studying abroad have priority over those studying in France.
I am currently studying at the master’s level. Can I apply at the master’s level?
If you are currently in your first year, you may apply to 1st (M1) or 2nd (M2) year. If you are currently in your second year, you may apply to 1st (M1) or 2nd (M2) year, but your application will not have priority.
I hold a postgraduate degree other than a master’s degree. Can I apply at the master’s level?
If you hold a 5-year or more postgraduate degree in engineering, medicine, journalism, etc. from a foreign higher education institution, you can apply to M1 or M2.

Should I find other sources of funding for the PhD level scholarship?
For the 36-month scholarship, it is not necessary to find additional funding. For the 12- or 18-month scholarship, you should secure another source/other sources of funding, so that the entire duration of the PhD is financed.

How can I get an international cotutelle agreement?
In order to obtain such agreement, you must be admitted by one of the doctoral schools of Paris-Saclay University first. Your PhD supervisor in France must also have filled in the cotutelle request online. More information is available on the university’s website.
What are the important dates for the Master’s level application?
October 1st, 2026: publication of the 2026 call for applications. November 9th, 2026: internal deadline to apply to Paris-Saclay University. December 5th, 2026 at the latest: publication of results to candidates. April 2026: publication of results to laureates and higher education institutions.
