Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates from all over the world are invited to apply.

EMJM PROMISE Affiliated Universities

Students will complete their Master’s Program in at least three Universities listed below.

  • University of Oulu in Finland (UOULU)
  • Montanuniversität Leoben, Austria (MUL)
  • Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria, Chile (USM) or University of Zagreb, Croatia (UNIZG)
  • MSc thesis (co-supervised by all partner universities), and in cooperation with industry.

EMJM PROMISE Program Structure

  • Semester 1: Finland (UOULU)
  • Semester 2: Austria (MUL)
  • Semester 3: Either Chile (USM) or  Croatia (UNIZG)
  • Semester 4: Thesis. Students will develop a thesis with a focus on industry application.

Eligible Backgrounds

Graduates in Mineral processing, metallurgical engineering, chemical engineering, materials and mineral resources engineering, earth resources engineering, raw materials and process engineering, mining and mineral engineering, mining engineering, geological engineering, related process engineering, raw materials engineering, materials, and rock waste treatment engineering, or related engineering fields, with a minimum BSc degree at the moment of application.

  • There is no separate scholarship application — once you apply for the PROMISE programme, you’ll automatically be considered for the Erasmus Mundus PROMISE Scholarship 2026.
  • Submit your full application within the official period, which runs from 1 November 2025 to 31 January 2026. Late submissions or missing files will disqualify your application.
  • Include your English certificate before the deadline. If your result is pending, attach proof of the test date as allowed by the programme guidelines.
