Eindhoven University of Technology Excellence Scholarships 2027 supports highly talented international students who want to shape the future of microchip technology. The TU/e Scholarship is awarded to top candidates applying for a Master’s program (or a specific Master’s track) in the departments listed by TU/e and requires confirmation in the application to be considered.

Eindhoven University of Technology Excellence Scholarships Benefits
- Approx. 35 scholarships available: 20 for EEA students, 15 for non-EEA.
- €7,500 per academic year, for two years (if enrolled and meeting the study progress requirements).
- The scholarships are not full scholarships and do not cover the total cost of your studies. You should be prepared to contribute significantly to your tuition and living expenses
- Paid in monthly instalments to a Dutch (or SEPA) bank account.
- Non-EEA students must still show proof of sufficient financial means for visa/residence permit purposes.

Eindhoven University of Technology Excellence Scholarships Eligibility Criteria
- Have applied for a full-time Master’s program at TU/e (see table above) for the 2027-2028 academic year, starting on 1 September 2027.
- Meet the specific admission requirements of the Master’s program to which you have applied.
- Completed a non-Dutch high school diploma or university bachelor’s degree (or both).
- Have not completed higher education (university or university of applied sciences) in the Netherlands (exchange programs are allowed).
- Have excellent academic results, as demonstrated by your latest grade transcript (GPA ≥ 7.5/10).
- Will meet all requirements for obtaining a Dutch entry visa and residence permit.
- Are not applying for a joint Master’s with Tilburg University (JADS) or a European Double Degree program.
- Have not been admitted based on an admission decision from a previous intake.

An application to another TU/e Master’s programme does not become eligible merely because it is technical. Likewise, applicants for a joint Master’s programme with Tilburg University (JADS) or a European Double Degree programme cannot use this scholarship route.

How much funding does the scholarship provide?
The Eindhoven University of Technology Excellence Scholarships provides €7,500 per academic year for two years, subject to enrolment and meeting study progress requirements. The scholarship is not a full scholarship and does not cover all tuition and living costs.

What is the selection procedure and timeline?
After the 1 January deadline, TU/e International Office checks eligibility. Eligible applications are sent to the Scholarship Selection Committee (Rector Magnificus, Dean of Education, Director Finance & Control, Director Education & Student Affairs). TU/e confirms selections by the end of March 2027 and informs selected candidates, who must sign a scholarship agreement.
Can the scholarship be deferred or appealed?
The selection outcome cannot be appealed, scholarships cannot be deferred, are non-transferable to Master’s programs outside the eligible departments, and the award amount is final and non-negotiable as stated on the TU/e page.
What study progress is required to maintain the scholarship?
To receive the second-year scholarship, first-year performance must be at least 45 ECTS. Students are expected to graduate within 36 months. Continued payment is conditional on meeting these study progress requirements.
Are non-EEA students required to show additional financial proof?
Yes. Non-EEA students must still show proof of sufficient financial means for visa and residence permit purposes despite receiving the scholarship, as the scholarship does not cover total living and tuition costs.
