The Canada-Asia Young Professionals Fellowship Program 2026 is an exciting opportunity for critical thinkers in Asia to advance their careers. This international fellowship is designed to discuss key issues related to the Canada-Asia relationship and is a non-resident program for nine months, with up to 20 current graduate students and professionals participating.

The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) hosts this fellowship to advance Canada’s relationship with other countries and the people of that region. Shortlisted fellows will convene virtually twice monthly and spend two days at APF Canada’s head office in Vancouver for an in-person retreat and networking opportunities.

Young Professionals Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicants must be between 22 to 30 years old at the start of the fellowship (approx. September 14, 2026).
  • The applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • The shortlisted fellows must be available for virtual meetings (60 minutes each) twice a month.
  • The applicants must be able to travel to Vancouver for the concluding event in early May 2026.
  • The applicants must hold a degree in political science, law, business, economics, international relations, Asian studies, or a related program.
  • The applicants must demonstrate interest through coursework, professional or volunteer experience.
  • Similarly, the applicants must have lived experience i.e. you lived in Asian countries or have been involved in cultural activities.
