The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract the best brains from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies in Malaysia. This scholarship aims to support the Malaysian Government's effort to attract, motivate, and retain talented human capital from abroad.
Talented international students with excellent academic records and outstanding co-curricular backgrounds are welcomed to apply for this scholarship and further their studies in any selected and well-established Malaysian public and private universities. This scholarship is funded by the Malaysian Government to attract international students to pursue Masters and PhD Degree programs from Malaysian Public Universities. For the MIS Scholarship, you can apply without IELTS and you don’t need an acceptance letter as well.
Applicants can apply for the full-time studies only for the 2024/25 intake. Applicants can apply to MIS-only selected Malaysian universities, including all 20 public universities and four private universities. There is no application fee for applying for the MIS Scholarship. Step - 1: Visit the "Official Website".
Step - 2: Then, you need to click on the "Click Here to MIS Application System".
Step - 4: Click on the "Sign up" button to register.
Step - 5: Next, you will need to provide details like, preferred program, passport num, email, date of birth, country and then set the password. Then, click on the "Register" button.
Step - 6: After registration, click on the "Login" button.
Step - 7: Then, enter your passport num and password. Then, you need to click on the "Login" button.
Step - 8: Here, you need to put your personal details like: full name, gender, expiry date of passport, religion, and marital Status.
Step - 9: Now, you need to your contact details like: addresses and phone numbers.
Step - 10: Here, you will need to provide a person's details with whom authority can contact in case of any emergency. You will need to put their name, relation with you, phone num, email address. Then, you need to click on the "Next" button.
Step - 11: Here, you need to provide details of your academic backgrounds (list in order of time, starting with last institution attended), academic and financial awards (e.g., Honours, distinction, book prizes, scholarship won in the last three years), other activities (curricular activities), and previous residence in a foreign country. Please list in chronological order and submit copies of document proof. Then, provide your declaration of consent. Then, you will need to click on the "Next" button.
Step - 12: Here, you will need to provide your application information {Preferred Program, Preferred Universities in Malaysia (Max 3), Commencement Date, Academic Session} and language proficiency details. Then, you will need to click on the "Next" button.
Step - 13: Here, you will need to write an essay where you have to describe the reasons for applying to the course and relate it to your future career plan (not more than 5000 characters. You can also upload a file, but it should be more than 200 words).
Step - 14: For PhD degree, you will need to add details of your thesis (Research Title, Name of Supervisor, Proposed Faculty & University, Problem Statement, Hypothesis, Expected Impact of Research Project, and Summary of Research Project Contribution). You need to maintain the character limits for each segment. Then, click on the "Next" button.
Step - 15: Next, you need to provide reference details (Name, Designation, Organization Name, Email, and Phone Number).
Step - 16: Here, you need to add details of your professional experiences. After Providing all the details, click on the "Next" button.
Step - 17: Now, you need to upload some documents (shown in the image below). Then, tik mark your declaration consent. Then, click on the "Next" button.At this stage after, clicking on the "Next" button, your application will be submitted.
The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) invites top international students to pursue Master’s and PhD programs at selected Malaysian universities. Funded by the Malaysian Government, this scholarship does not require IELTS scores or an acceptance letter, and there is no application fee.
