1) Letters of Recommendation:
Three letters of recommendation must be submitted. The letters are due by September 12, 2024. Please give your recommenders enough notice so they have ample time to submit the letters by this deadline.
We advise that you request letters from individuals who can speak to the merits of your proposed project, your record of achievement, and your collegiality. We advise that only one of three recommenders be from your home institution and only one of three recommenders be from a dissertation committee member. We encourage applicants not to use their dissertation advisor if they are more than five years past their PhD.
We cannot accept more than three letters of recommendation.
2) Instructions for Requesting Recommenders:
Please select the "Add Recommender" button below and complete the required information in the window that is displayed. Please verify the email address with your recommender. You may include a personalized message to your recommender and attach your proposal.
After sending the request, the recommender's name will appear in the "Recommender Status" section below, along with the "Status" of the letter itself. The status of the letter will be listed in red. The three stages are Email Sent, In Progress and Submitted.
It is your responsibility to check whether your letters have been submitted. The portal will continue to accept letters after the deadline and add them to your application, though we cannot guarantee that they will accompany your application through the entire review process.
