Want to study in Australia? But worried about appearing and clearing IELTS. Then don't worry; this cannot stop you from studying in a foreign institute. As we know that one of the most important requirements for getting admission in abroad is language proficiency test scores. If anyone cannot clear the IELTS exam for the first attempt, then it will add more expenses and time as well. It can be challenging for non-native English speakers are considerable for many universities in Australia. Although IELTS is recommended to measure student's ability to understand English for better education experience, admissions are allowed in various Australian Universities without IELTS for international students.

1. The Swinburne University of Technology:

The Swinburne University of Technology is a public university based in Melbourne, Victoria. Swinburne has five campuses; it also has a campus in Sarawak, Malaysia. The Swinburne University of Technology is ranked at 387th in the world’s top universities. You can get admission at Swinburne as international students if you have had English in your previous education as a language of instruction. You will have to provide a confirmation letter stating the same. Swinburne offers undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Administration and Management, Technology, Science, Marketing, Commerce, Accounting, etc.

 

2. The University of Queensland:

The University of Queensland is a research university located in Queensland's capital city, Brisbane, which is ranked at 48th in World’s Top Universities. International students without an IELTS/TOEFL score can get admission if they have completed a full-time course where English was the language for both assessment and instruction, or if they have paid / voluntary Work Experience in an English speaking professional environment for a minimum of 5 years.

 

3. The University of Adelaide:

The University of Adelaide is the third-oldest public university in Australia which is located in Adelaide, South Australia. The University of Adelaide is ranked at 114th in the world University rankings and it is one of the Top Universities in Australia. International students can apply for the University of Adelaide without IELTS / TOEFL if they complete a Pre-enrolment English Program (PEP) successfully before the beginning of their course. This is an ideal option for international students without appropriate English training. The University arranges the PEP to be undertaken at the English Language Centre in Adelaide. On the other hand, if you have done your latest degree course in the English Language as instruction then you will have to provide a confirmation letter from your degree institute stating you have completed your Degree Education in English Language, Instruction and Assessment both.

 

4. The University of Southern Queensland:

The University of Southern Queensland is a regional university located in Toowoomba, Springfield, and Ipswich. It offers courses in law, health, engineering, the sciences, business, education, and the arts. The University arranges USQ Pathway programs to the students who are eligible for the admission in a course sans the English Language Proficiency. After completion of the program, admission is granted.

 

5. The University of South Australia:

The University of South Australia (UniSA) is a public research university in the Australian state of South Australia. UniSA is ranked at 264 in World University Rankings. The University is flexible when it comes to English Language Requirements. International students can get admission without IELTS if one of the below is fulfilled:

  • A score of 169 in Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency (CPE)
  • Overall and individual scores of 50 in PTE
  • CELUSA English Program Level 4
  • TAFE SA program
  • Secondary Education has done in Australia
  • At least one year of tertiary education in Australia
  • One year in any of secondary or tertiary education completed in countries decided by the University.

 

6. Macquarie University:

Macquarie University is a public research university located in Sydney, Australia. The University is one of the world’s top 250 Universities. International students can apply for conditional admission at Macquarie University. If all the admission criteria apart from English Language Proficiency are fulfilled, you can take onto the English preparation program at Macquarie University English Language Centre.

 

7. Bond University:

Bond University is a private not-for-profit university located in Robina, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is one of the top 500 Universities in the world. To be precise, it is 443rd. The University offers its own alternative test to international students to be eligible for the admission. You can finish Bond University College's EAP Level 3 (English for Academic Purposes) before the start of the program. It may also allow international students to get admission who have completed their secondary education in an institution where the medium of instruction is English.

 

8. The University of New South Wales:

The University of New South Wales (UNSW; branded as UNSW Australia) is an Australian public research university located in the suburb of Kensington in Sydney. The University of New South Wales is Australia’s 3rd ranked University and comes on 45th when talked about world rankings. You can get admission at UNSW without IELTS if:

  1. You have a conditional acceptance from UNSW, and you complete their Pre-Seasonal English Language Program,
  2. You can also submit your PTE or Cambridge English: Advanced Scores for assessment in place of IELTS / TOEFL.
