What documents are required?

Required documents include the JAMB university admission letter, credit passes in required subjects from GCE, NECO, WASC or any approved university qualifying examination, and evidence of success in any required post JAMB examination. For enrolled students, evidence of current registration and official transcript certified by the Registrar are required.

What is the application deadline?

Only those applicants whose completed application package is received by the deadline date will be considered for a scholarship. Deadline dates are publicly published at least one month before the date.

What academic performance is required to keep the scholarship?

ASMAF Need-Based Scholarship 2026 is renewed annually if the awardee maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and participates fully in all programmes offered under the award. The awardee must provide evidence of satisfactory academic record certified by the Registrar of the University and evidence of satisfactory participation in other programmes, and submit an annual one-page progress report.

Can awardees hold other scholarships or work while on the award?

Awardees may not hold any other scholarship or bursary except with written approval from ASMAF. They cannot engage in full-time work while on the scholarship. A strictly limited amount of part-time paid employment is allowed provided it does not interfere with their study programme. Award holders must seek approval from ASMAF for employment likely to interfere with the course of study.

Can the scholarship be transferred or the course changed?

ASMAF Need-Based Scholarship 2026 cannot be transferred to another student or institution. Awardees may not change the course of study for which an award is granted except for a course covered under the ASMAF scheme and only with written approval from ASMAF. If an award is terminated due to ineligibility or other conditions, it cannot be reactivated unless the termination occurred in error.
