ASMAF Need-Based Scholarship 2026 in Nigeria | Fully Funded

The ASMAF Need-Based Scholarship is a need-based financial aid award for female Nigerian students. The award provides financial assistance for a professional course of study at a public Nigerian university, covering tuition, board and upkeep for up to 6 years. It also includes life skills and leadership development programmes, mentoring, and access to resources that encourage academic excellence and lifelong learning. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

To be eligible, applicants must be female, indigent Nigerian citizens embarking on tertiary level qualifications for the first time. They must have gained admission to or be enrolled in a full-time accredited undergraduate programme in Medicine, Law, Actuary, Engineering, Accountancy, Architecture or any professional course in any public university in Nigeria. They must meet financial need and academic requirements and demonstrate commitment to academic and professional excellence with strong leadership potential.

ASMAF Need-Based Scholarship 2026 covers professional courses of study at public Nigerian universities, including Medicine, Law, Actuary, Engineering, Accountancy, Architecture or any professional course. Applicants must be admitted to or enrolled in a full-time accredited undergraduate programme in one of these fields. The award is intended for promising female students with superior academic ability who demonstrate financial need.

ASMAF Need-Based Scholarship 2026 provides financial assistance covering tuition, board and upkeep for up to 6 years, depending on course and year of award, subject to satisfactory academic progress. It also includes life skills and leadership development programmes with mentoring and access to resources that encourage academic excellence and lifelong learning. The amount is determined annually by ASMAF and is paid in installments from semester to semester.

Applicants must fill the online form at https://scholarship.asmaf.org/. Submission starts on 1st August 2026 and the deadline for collection and submission is Tuesday 15th September 2026. Late applications will not be accepted. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted, and selection decisions are final. Applications require evidence of university admission or current registration and relevant academic records.

Applicants must provide evidence of admission into university and evidence of appropriate academic record. Required documents include the JAMB university admission letter, credit passes in required subjects from GCE, NECO, WASC or any approved university qualifying examination, and evidence of success in any required post JAMB examination. For enrolled students, evidence of current registration and official transcript certified by the Registrar are required.

Submission starts on 1st August 2026, and the deadline for collection and submission of applications is Tuesday 15th September 2026. Late applications will not be accepted. Only those applicants whose completed application package is received by the deadline date will be considered for a scholarship. Deadline dates are publicly published at least one month before the date.

ASMAF Need-Based Scholarship 2026 is renewed annually if the awardee maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and participates fully in all programmes offered under the award. The awardee must provide evidence of satisfactory academic record certified by the Registrar of the University and evidence of satisfactory participation in other programmes, and submit an annual one-page progress report.

Awardees may not hold any other scholarship or bursary except with written approval from ASMAF. They cannot engage in full-time work while on the scholarship. A strictly limited amount of part-time paid employment is allowed provided it does not interfere with their study programme. Award holders must seek approval from ASMAF for employment likely to interfere with the course of study.

ASMAF Need-Based Scholarship 2026 cannot be transferred to another student or institution. Awardees may not change the course of study for which an award is granted except for a course covered under the ASMAF scheme and only with written approval from ASMAF. If an award is terminated due to ineligibility or other conditions, it cannot be reactivated unless the termination occurred in error.
