Yale World Fellows is a four-month, full-time residential leadership program for extraordinary global leaders who serve, inspire, and motivate others; the Yale World Fellows program selects a geographically balanced cohort to expand skills, networks, and impact.
The program is based at Yale’s International Leadership Center within the Jackson School of Global Affairs and runs annually from mid-August to mid-December, providing fellows opportunities to present, host salons, audit courses, mentor students, and participate in campus life.

Yale World Fellows Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants should be between five and twenty-five years into their professional careers, with demonstrated and significant accomplishments at a regional, national, or international level.
- Applicants must be citizens of a country other than the United States (dual citizens with the United States are eligible, though strong preference is given to candidates whose work is focused outside the United States).
- Applicants must be fluent in English.
- World Fellows are required to be in residence at Yale University in New Haven for the entirety of the program which runs from mid-August through mid-December.

How to Apply for Yale World Fellows
- The application process for admission to the World Fellows Program is done entirely online; there are no paper forms to complete or mail.
- There is a $20 application fee to apply.
- Prior to the deadline, you may work on your application at any time and submit it when you are ready; after creating an account you can upload materials and request letters of recommendation.
- Applicants are required to submit a résumé/CV (maximum 3 pages), a personal statement (maximum 600 words), and three letters of recommendation.
- Applicants must also submit a brief video statement; videos must be recorded in the application platform itself.

Am I a competitive candidate?
Admission to the World Fellows Program is extremely competitive; the program receives several thousand applications for a limited number of fellowships.
