The Alumni Community Engagement Fund (ACEF) is an annual fund that supports Commonwealth Alumni in raising awareness of key development issues at the community level. It enables alumni to organise and deliver engagement activities that promote knowledge-sharing, dialogue, and practical action.
The fund is provided by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the UK. The CSC aims to contribute to the UK’s international development objectives and to support the development of Commonwealth countries through scholarships and fellowships.

Alumni Community Engagement Fund Eligibility Criteria
- You can apply as an individual Commonwealth Alumnus, a CSC Alumni Association, or a group of Commonwealth Alumni not part of an existing alumni association
- Only alumni living/working in a Commonwealth Small Island Developing State can apply for the ‘Strengthening blue economies in SIDS’ theme

Themes for 2026–27
Applicants must choose one theme only:
- Artificial Intelligence for Development – showcasing how AI can address local challenges in education, healthcare, agriculture, and governance.
- Strengthening Blue Economies in SIDS – open to alumni living/working in Small Island Developing States, focusing on marine conservation, sustainable fishing, and ocean‑based livelihoods.
- Women Entrepreneurs: Catalyst for Change – supporting women’s economic empowerment through skills, policy awareness, and community outreach.

You can propose a range of engaging activities, including skills-based training such as masterclasses and workshops, lectures and seminars, civic engagement projects, community forums, ideathons, and collaborative problem-solving events.
Will I receive feedback if my application is unsuccessful?
No, the CSC is unfortunately unable to provide feedback on unsuccessful submissions.
Are there information sessions available?
Yes, information sessions will take place on Tuesday 14 July (12:00 BST) and Wednesday 15 July (21:00 BST). To join, complete the registration form by 11:00 am (BST) on Monday 13 July 2026.
