The UNICEF Internship 2026–2027 in Japan offers a unique opportunity to work with the Public Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Division (PPR) at the Asia-Pacific Pillar Office in Tokyo. Interns support quality assurance, analysis, communication, and administrative tasks related to resource mobilisation with the Government of Japan, gaining direct practical experience in UNICEF’s mission for every child.

UNICEF works in over 190 countries to protect children’s rights and improve their lives. The Tokyo office focuses on building partnerships with the Government of Japan and other public actors. This internship is part of UNICEF’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in international development and humanitarian assistance.

UNICEF Public Partnerships Internship Benefits

• Lump sum stipend of JPY 5,500 per day, inclusive of transport costs
• Hybrid work modality (combination of working in the office/teleworking)

UNICEF Public Partnerships Internship Eligibility Criteria

• Currently enrolled in a university or graduate school, or graduated within two years
• Available for work 4-5 days a week for 3-6 months
• Able to work in accordance with Japan Standard Time (JST)
• Interested in child rights, health, nutrition, water and sanitation, education, child protection, gender, climate change
• High level of proficiency in both written and oral English and Japanese
• Ability to work with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
