Gold Scholarship Programme 2026 in UK | Fully Funded

The Gold Scholarship Programme is a fully funded undergraduate scholarship at the University of Bath for students with a household income of £30,000 or below. It provides up to £5,000 per year plus an enrichment programme including volunteering, mentoring, and skills training.

You must be a new first-year Home UK undergraduate student in 2026/27, have a household income of £30,000 or below, be registered on a full-time undergraduate course at Bath, and meet a contextual criterion such as Free School Meals or being a Care Leaver.

The scholarship is worth up to £5,000 per year. For first-year students on campus, this includes £3,250 cash, £1,000 campus credit, and a £750 accommodation reduction. Continuing students receive £4,000 cash and £1,000 campus credit.

New first-year undergraduates starting in 2026 will be invited to apply via the University of Bath Application Tracker. You must answer 3 supporting questions (250 words each). Applications open from mid/late May 2026.

The closing date is midday on Thursday 27 August 2026. Late applications cannot be accepted.

No. Students awarded a Gold Scholarship cannot also receive a Bath Bursary. If you are unsuccessful for the Gold Scholarship, you will automatically be offered a Bath Bursary.

The enrichment programme includes 50 hours of volunteering or approved roles per year, mentoring, personal development sessions, networking, skills training, support with placements and internships, and pastoral support networks.

Up to 50 students per year are given the opportunity to take part in the Gold Scholarship Programme.

Placement students on a thin paid placement receive £2,500 (£2,000 cash + £500 campus credit). Those on a thin unpaid placement receive £5,000 (£4,500 cash + £500 campus credit). Thick unpaid placement students receive £5,000 cash.

You will be informed of the outcome from Friday 4 September 2026. The selection is final and there is no appeal process.
