The ICSSR-JSPS Joint Research Grants FY 2027 is a fully funded bilateral program supporting joint research projects and seminars between Indian and Japanese social scientists. It aims to build sustained networks and foster high-quality research collaboration.

IICSSR-JSPS Joint Research Grants FY Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be employed in a research or academic position in permanent capacity in a recognized research or academic institution in India.
  • Institution must be a publicly funded university/college, deemed university recognized by UGC, or a publicly funded research institute or ICSSR research institute.
  • Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent qualification.
  • Japanese participants must be researchers at a university or research institute under JSPS jurisdiction.
  • Researchers from third countries are not allowed to participate in joint research projects.
  • Applications must be submitted to both ICSSR and JSPS by the deadlines.

How to Apply for ICSSR-JSPS Joint Research Grants FY?

  1. Download the prescribed application form from the ICSSR website.
  2. Submit the completed application form via email and hard copy to ICSSR on or before 3rd September 2026.
  3. Ensure the Japanese counterpart submits a matching application to JSPS.
