Sussex India Scholarship 2026 in UK

The Sussex India Scholarship is a £5,000 tuition fee reduction for Indian nationals who are classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes and have been accepted to study an eligible full-time Masters course at the University of Sussex starting in September 2026 or January 2027.

To be eligible, you must be a national of India, classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes, and taking up a place on a full-time Masters degree starting September 2026 or January 2027. You must also be self-financing.

The scholarship provides a £5,000 tuition fee reduction. It is awarded as a fee reduction for each year of full-time study at Sussex.

The scholarship is applied automatically if you meet the eligibility criteria. No separate application is needed. Confirmation is sent by email after you receive an offer of a place.

The deadline is 1 September 2026 at 23:59 (GMT). You must have accepted your place and meet all eligibility criteria by this date.

Courses not eligible include certificates and diplomas (including PGCE), courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, MSc Climate Change, Development and Policy, MA Development Studies, MA Food and Development, MA Gender and Development, MA Globalisation, Business and Development, MA Governance, Development and Public Policy, MA Poverty, Policy and Development Practice, MA Power, Participation and Social Change, degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary), online courses, schools direct teaching courses, and Masters funded by research councils.

No. You are not eligible if your tuition fees are fully sponsored. The scholarship is only for self-financing students. If you confirm sponsorship, the scholarship offer will be revoked.

The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee reduction. It will be reflected in your fee statement. Information about the scholarship will be included in your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) for your visa application.

If you are a dual national, you may be asked to provide evidence of your Indian nationality, such as a passport or other official government identification. If you plan to apply for a Student Visa with another passport, you may still need to present evidence of Indian nationality.
