Romanian Government ARICE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • All foreign citizens with the exception of the EU and EFTA member states. Priority is given to citizens of non-EU and non-EFTA states that don’t have an agreement with Romania for cultural and educational cooperation.
  • Romanian citizens or persons that belong to historical Romanian communities located in the vicinity of Romania are not eligible.
  • Citizens that have applied for or are under a form of protection in Romania are not eligible.
  • Stateless persons who are permitted to stay on the Romanian territory and recognized according to the Romanian law are not eligible.
  • Member / family members of diplomatic and consular corps accredited in Romania are not eligible.
  • Citizens that have benefited from the Romanian state’s scholarship for the same cycle of studies are not eligible.
  • Citizens who have a long-term residence permit in Romania are not eligible.

How to Apply for Romanian Government ARICE Scholarship

  • Between May 11 and June 12, 2026, 2:00 PM Romanian time, application files for scholarships awarded by the Romanian state for the 2026–2027 academic year will be sent only in electronic format (pdf), to the email address: [email protected].
  • Select a Romanian university and preferred study program
  • Prepare required documents including academic transcripts, passport copy, diplomas, CV, and recommendation letters if required
